SITES got involved with Sterbue in the structural diagnosis of a 91m height cooling tower with a diameter of 54m at the top.
Sterblue performed a picture coverage using a drone with an automated trajectory function, enabling to divide site works time by 3. Based on its experience in the ageing monitoring of cooling towers, SITES performed the digital reconstruction of the structure. Based on that twin, SITES performed an extensive visual inspection (detection of submillimetric width cracks) and provided a geometrical deflection study of the shell. As a result, the owner of the structure beneficiate of detailed condition assessment of the structure and recommendations in order to anticipate potential maintenance works.
